About the Workshop

The workshop is dedicated to the anniversary of Professor Mikhail Goldman (S. M. Nikolskii Mathematical Institute, RUDN University). Professor Goldman is a well-known scientist, member of the editorial board of the journal "Eurasian Mathematical Journal", reviewer of a number of leading mathematical journals.

Professor Goldman's research interests include: theory of functional spaces, optimal embeddings, integral inequalities, spectral theory of differential operators. His main achievements include: optimal embeddings of spaces with generalized smoothness, exact conditions for the convergence of spectral decompositions, descriptions of integral and differential properties of generalized potentials of the Bessel and Riesz types, sharp estimates for operators on cones, and a description of optimal spaces of functions containing cones with monotonicity properties. Professor Goldman has more than 130 scientific publications in central domestic and foreign mathematical journals. 

Mikhail Goldman is a laureate of the Moscow government competition (2002), a laureate of the RUDN University Prize in Science and Innovation (2013), and a laureate of the RUDN University Prize in Scientific Supervision of Postgraduate Students (2017).

Professor Goldman is a member of the dissertation councils of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the RUDN University. He was an opponent in the defense of more than 35 doctoral and more than 50 candidate dissertations, as well as 4 PhD dissertations defended at the Mathematics Department of the Technical University of Lulea (Sweden). There were defended 11 dissertations for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences at the RUDN University under Professor Goldman’s supervision. 

M. Goldman's students are actively developing mathematicians, carrying out their professional activities in leading universities and scientific institutes of Ethiopia, Rwanda, Columbia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Russia. Among them there are also specialists engaged in publishing activities in leading scientific mathematical journals.
